About Anchor of the Soul
The radio programs began in 2007, overseen by the Elders at the Olive Branch Church of Christ in Olive Branch, MS, aiming to spread the Gospel through modern media. The program soon began to grow through radio stations all over the country. The Anchor of the Soul weekly radio program is now available on over 15 stations and markets across the United States and widely available on 650WSM which can sometimes be heard worldwide via AM.
In 2020, with the world still dealing with the consequences of COVID, Anchor of the Soul was offered the opportunity to add television to our outreach. The TV program began in May 2020 on WTWV 23.1 Memphis. It has since grown to markets in various local markets and now nationally with PositivTV. We also continue to provide the lessons online via YouTube and social media so that they are always accessible for learning and edification.
Our only goal is to provide bold, unashamed preaching straight from God's inspired Word - The Holy Bible. These programs are but one tool that can be used to continue your growth as a Christian or help convert others.
We never ask for support on these programs. Our sole goal with these programs is to make and strengthen Christians by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our financial ability to produce these programs is solely provided by the congregations that support and oversee the program and contributions from those who see value in the work. Mike began preaching in Nashville while in school at Lipscomb University. After receiving his B.A., Mike earned a Masters Degree from Amridge University, and is an honorary graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching. He and Nancy have been married since 1987. They have a son, Braden.
Mike has been preaching in the Memphis area since 1991, and has been the full time pulpit minister at Olive Branch church of Christ since 2007. He has a weekly radio and television program, Anchor of the Soul, hosts Counterpoint with B.J. Clarke, is a former instructor for the Jamaica School of Preaching, and currently teaches for the International Academy of Biblical Studies.
