What You Can Do For The Cause

As the people of God, we have been “created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Eph. 2:10). The apostle Paul said we are to show ourselves “a pattern of good works” (Tit. 2:7). He encourages us to be “zealous for good works” (Tit. 2:14). The good works that we perform are to the glory of God (cf. Eph. 3:21; Matt.5:16).
It may be the case that you are looking for things to do for the cause of Christ. If that is the case, here are some ways you can contribute:
1. Pray daily for the church at Olive Branch. Remember to especially pray for our elders and their families (I Thess. 5:17).
2. Look for opportunities to share the gospel (cf. Matt. 28:19-20).
3. Try to reclaim a wayward Christian (cf. Jas. 5:19-20).
4. Invite a friend or neighbor to our worship services.
5. Visit a sick or shut-in member of the church. You will be surprised how much your visit will mean to someone who is home-bound (cf. Matt. 25:36).
6. Look for visitors at our worship services and give them a warm greeting. If they have children, help them find the appropriate class. Do everything possible to make them feel welcome (cf. Pr. 25:11).
7. Volunteer to teach or be an assistant in one of our classes.
8. Make plans to help with our upcoming Vacation Bible School.
